What a team!
he was struck by a vehicle near our farm.
In October 2004, he underwent surgery for a total hip replacement, but the surgeon feared it would be unsuccessful, so he opted for a Femoral Head Ostectomy or FHO.
Spur went through rehabilitation, but unfortunately, was one of the 25% who do not fare well with this surgery. He still has a limp, and sometimes he carries his leg, but he refuses to let it get him down! He still loves to fetch the ball and swim in the pool, but we do need to manage him well, because he is a cattle dog and he tends to overdo things!
In addition, his favoritism of the injured leg has put terrible strain on the rest of his healthy joints.
I would like to thank all of the folks who so graciously and generously donated to the
"Spur of the Moment Fund". Those of you who bought cookies and dog beds and other items to fund Spur's surgery helped us greatly!
