| Bella's Wish A Dog's Prayer |

| May every dog know the comfort in the worn-out seat of an old pickup truck, the freedom of an open passenger window and the rush of wind filling his nostrils as he rides toward "Home" May every dog feel the pride of being the chosen guardian of a sick child's bed the sweet music of his sleepy breath, and the warm, steady glow of a night light May every dog experience the absolute satisfaction of digging up the moist, shaded underside of a large Pine and discovering, (after overturning a heavy stone) a handful of Sow bugs, and one squirming Grub May every dog relish in the frustration of a peanut butter filled bone, the pleasure of finding a just-washed blanket strewn over an overstuffed chair, and the always reliable "tick, tick, tick" of a grandfather clock May every dog know the welcome relief of a frog inhabited pond on a sweltering summer day, and the genuine joy of chasing geese! May every dog know the wonder of grass and the vastness of sky May every dog be brave, trust the gentle peace that comes with darkness, and know the hope that follows with the first, faint ribbon of sunlight May every dog look into the eyes of a human and know forgiveness May every dog sleep a good sleep, and may every dog dream... -L.K.
